Our Model

For the school year of 2024-2025, Covenant will have 4K through 3rd grade. At the request of current families, we are also considering adding 4th and 5th grade for the 2024-2025 school year. We are working on compiling a list of those interested in 4th or 5th grade. Please email us at info@covenantchristianaug.org if you would like to add your student’s name to the list. We plan to expand by one grade level each subsequent year.

Core Academic Classes will meet Monday through Thursday from 8:30am-12:30pm with the option for extracurriculars in the afternoon.

Friday will be an at home learning day during which parents have the flexibility to incorporate other subjects that are not considered “core” subjects. For example, music art, PE, and field trips. Our teachers will provide suggestions for at home reading for these days at home.

The student to teacher ratio will be around 12:1 to provide the best learning environment for children. There will be no more than 16 students per classroom. This allows for individualized instruction and maximum success.

Covenant Christian Academy is NOT currently an accredited institution, nor does it intend to pursue accreditation at this time. Covenant Christian Academy is in compliance with every known state and federal law.

Parents will need to register their children as homeschoolers in the state of Georgia or South Carolina, dependent on residency. Our teachers will keep records of your students progress throughout the year and will help you submit all the required paperwork to the state.

For South Carolina families, you will need to join a Homeschool Association in order to meet educational requirements in SC.  You may join the association of your choice. Option 2 https://ed.sc.gov/districts-schools/state-accountability/home-schooling/home-school-option-2/ or Option 3 https://ed.sc.gov/districts-schools/state-accountability/home-schooling/homeschooling/home-school-option-3/ Fees vary dependent upon the association of your choice.

For Georgia families, kindergarten is not required in the state of Georgia. However, for grades 1 and higher, you will need to submit an annual declaration of intent to homeschool to the state. By September 1, you must submit a “declaration of intent to utilize a home study program” to the Georgia Department of Education. https://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Pages/Home-Schools.aspx
