Statement of Faith

Covenant Christian Academy is a private, Christian ministry. We embrace the historic tenets of Christianity as confessed in the Apostles Creed and the Westminster Confession of Faith. We adhere to traditional, historical and conservative Biblical principles such as, but not limited to:

We believe the Bible to be the only inerrant and inspired Word of God, our ultimate authority in matters of doctrine and holy living.

We believe that there is but one living and true God, eternally existent in three Persons of one power, substance, and eternity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the true deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, such that two distinct natures, divine and human, were inseparably joined together in one person, without conversion, composition, or confusion.

We believe in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that Adam was made from the dust of the ground and formed after God’s image and likeness, which was good, righteous, and holy. Because of Adam’s sin all mankind is in a state of rebellion against God. For the salvation of such lost and sinful men regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary.

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. There is no other way by which to enter into a relationship with God.

We believe that faith without works is dead. Christ’s call to “repent and believe” means that the entire life of believers is one of repentance — turning from sin and embracing Christ.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, as the Spirit of Christ within us enables us to do freely and cheerfully what the will of God revealed in Scripture requires to be done. We believe that good works are only those which arise from true faith, conform to God’s Word, and are done for His glory.

We believe God has appointed a day when He will judge the world in righteousness through Jesus Christ. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved to the resurrection of life, and those who are lost to the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. All who are united to Christ as Head of the Church are united to one another in love and have communion in each other’s gifts and graces.

We believe that Christian parents have the God-given responsibility to provide their children with a godly understanding of the world in which they are growing up. To this end, Christian education, however administered, is essential (Deuteronomy 6:1-9).

We believe that a Christian education must teach the lordship of Christ. Any subject taught apart from Christ fails to meet the basic goal of education: to impart knowledge. Apart from Christ there is no education, for without Him knowledge is impossible.

Beyond these primary doctrines, we respect and acknowledge the primacy of the family and refer any secondary doctrinal questions to parents for clarification.

We believe that to preserve the integrity of Covenant Christian Academy and to provide a biblical role model to the students and faculty, it is imperative that all persons representing Covenant Christian Academy in any capacity (employees, volunteers, etc.) agree to and abide by our Statement of Faith. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity and that God offers forgiveness, redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10-9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11). Parents, students, teachers and administrators of the school must affirm the above statement of faith.
